Thalamus AI was born from an unlikely partnership: a 20-year enterprise architect who'd built Fortune 100 and Federal Agency infrastructure met a community-focused business connector and local Mortgage Lending company owner over a raffle prize at a local networking event.

Shawn brought two decades of enterprise scars—watching vendors intentionally design complexity to extract maximum value and keep smaller players locked in. Josh brought the pain of trying to bring a high-tech, high-touch experience to his customers through the lived experience of SMBs drowning in disconnected tools while competitors with enterprise backing pulled ahead.

Within a few coffee meetings, we realized we were fighting the same battle from opposite sides: the gap between SMBs and enterprise capability isn't technical—it's manufactured. The technology exists. The architecture is proven. The only thing missing was someone willing to make it accessible without the gatekeeping.
